If only everything in life was as it seems. Again we wake up to encounter another bombshell that could turn the world on it's head and change the nature of human behaviour for ever. "Tell us more!" We hear you cry. "It is better that we know than spend our lives in the false bliss that is ignorance!"

OK, well, turns out that when ladies walk with a sexy wiggle, then this should NOT be taken as an invitation to breed. So have a care all you young red-bloods out there as, coincidentally, the judiciary has applied similar principles for a while now. The cautionary note was sounded this week by the New Scientist, acting on the result of a recent study. However, let it not be said that the New Scientist is all about problems. The NS follows the old maxim espoused by all those good bosses out there, "Don't come to me with problems, come to me with solutions". Indeed, just as fast as one bombshell is dropped, an instant remedy is proposed. Ah! it's all about eye contact, smiling and being nice to a lady - that's how we win ourselves a mate!  Thus we have an immediate fall back position, albeit with a longer term strategy.

So, in the event that we encounter a lady with a sexy walk, and (for reasons we neither appear to control or understand) find that lady sexually attractive, we should NOT immediately attempt to mate with her. This does not necessarily mean that we should rapidly strike her from our list and move on to another prospect, just that she is likely to be some time away from ovulation, so she can certainly be considered "one for the future". We should consider preparing the ground in the short term by making eye contact with the lady and smiling at her, as she is sure to be receptive to this tactic. We can also help ourselves by simultaneously making ourselves as symmetrical as we can, and making our cheeks look nice.

"And how will I know when all this is working?" we hear you cry. Well, when she starts slagging off her mates, that's when. This behaviour should be celebrated and encouraged as it's a sure sign that you're "in" and that the radar is well and truly set on you. Finally with your goal in sight it's time to start getting dominant. You can take charge and (if our interpretation of the evidence is correct) you may do more or less what you were inclined to do when you first spotted that sexy wiggle. The entire process should take about 25 days.

So to summarise:

1. Sexy wiggle - DON'T MATE - WAIT
2. Eye contact, smile, symmetry and cheeks  (E.C.S.S.C)
3. Hold for slander - then DOMINATE
