Infact put yourself ( even the interviewers or appraisers), and each one of us (you) would face the same plight.

I am a Quality Management Auditor and do think this way. Keep the other perspective in mind. Learn from the mistakes, and try to Improve.

Dr Deming taught the modus operandi through his 14 points, and shunned 'Performance Appraisal' as a yellow caard of Demotivating people.

Yes Praise them. Allow them to see the darker side of it. And motivate them to IMPROVE...IMPROVE and IMPROVE...

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I am on something of a mission to introduce a more "thinking" approach particularly to Quality Auditors. I have just returned from Pune after setting up a Capable People partnership in India for Lead Auditor training with an excellent company called Zenith. I've found that in India there can be a tendency to adopt a mechanical and literal approach to quality management as though the human dynamic was an irrelevant part of proceedings. But the fact is that it DOES affect what happens, we CAN'T ignore it, therefore we MUST adopt intelligent strategies for managing it

I share the same feeling and doing my bit, by educating directly, F2F, and indirectly ( write in Qulaity World, www.qualitypride.com, Foundry magazine etc. Lately wrote some conceptually bold pieces, and a series on Dr Deming etc. I would welcome to contribute to capable People partnership, and being based at Chandigarh am in quite proximity to Pune.
