What is it about fast food that makes people think of "lean" all of a sudden? No sooner has Capable Blog (trailblazers as ever) drawn an analogy between "lean" concepts and the production of a plate of fish, chips & peas then they're all at it. Maybe it's Christmas making people think of food and the consequential and necessary dietary adjustments that follow ... Good grief, here's another!
ISO 9001 Review
This is the type of thing you look forward to about as much as a Turkey does to Christmas, and read what comes out through gaps in your fingers, if past experience is anything to go by. That said, it's coming so we may as well take notice of a handy "heads up" on what's coming. It seems that the great and the good may be aware that clarification in some areas is needed (NO! REALLY???) but dare we suggest that a definition of the term "clarification" would also be handy
Persistence in business
Here's a great quote off Rachel Elnaugh's blog on the above subject. This should be nailed on every quality, customer services, sales and marketing team's wall. (Ahem)
" ... it is not about relentlessly trying to sell products and services which no-one wants, it is about being super self-critical and constantly assessing everything through the eyes of the customer - then honing and refining the business offering until everything starts to work"
or, we may add, till you run out of money
Maybe the clarification added to clause 8.2.1 in ISO 9000:2008 could link to this little gem
In your face, John Seddon
Registrations to ISO 9001 are increasing, apparently. Discuss
Extreme team building
Regular visitors to Capable Blog will be aware that we broke the blog last week trying to share a freaky team building/trust type video clip with our growing community. It proved so popular we exceeded our permitted band width. We are currently in discussions about how we can avoid such happenings in the future, but still offer you the same great mix of edgy comment, advice, useful links and people doing stupid things that you're all, apparently, mad for. Watch this space. Just to whet your appetites, the offending clip involves four rednecks, two see-saws and an angry bull ...
Thanks
In a weird way, we'd like to thank you all for visiting Capable Blog in such numbers last week that you broke it
