Capable People is a big supporter of creativity and talent. These are the things that truly enrich our lives and, the fact of the matter is, you either have creativity and talent or you don't. Instead of adopting a fatalistic apathy, those of us that are unlucky enough not be be blessed with an abundance of those qualities, should recognise that we have a critical role to play in supporting and nurturing true talent. The talented need the rest of us to allow them to achieve their true place in the public eye and maybe to realise their commercial potential. These people need our support because often the dark forces of plagiarism are at work. These are the Jackals and Hyenas of the commercial world who steal ideas from the truly talented and pass them off as their own, and they are often sickeningly good at it

Fair enough, you may say, but how do you tell true talent from a fake? Well there are always tell-tale signs. Things just don't quite hang together. You only have to take one look at Scottish alternative "rockers" The View to get a feel for that. There's something not quite right about a bunch of youngsters from Dundee singing in a difficult to pinpoint Northern English dialect about the general drudgery of modern life. Wonder where they get their ideas from...
